What a wonderful few days spent at East Pilton Farm. The cottage is beautifully furnished, well equipped and in a perfect location to discover the stunning Gower. Not a long walk to get to Port Eynon, Mewslade or Rhossili, the cottage is a perfect base for walking and exploring. Absolutely right for two young grandchildren . The combine and tractor were great treats. The farmers were so helpful and understanding of young ones. The cottage was spacious and well equipped. The only downside was the weather.

  • We stayed at East Pilton Farm in April. The cottage is fantastic and decorated to a very high standard, with lovely little touches such a fluffy white towels and little toiletries. We loved helping out on the farm feeding the newborn lambs, everyone on the farm is so friendly. The Gower is an amazing area with great beaches, walks and places to explore. A real gem. Would recommend it to anyone.

Three generations of our family had a wonderful holiday on beautiful Gower. East Pilton Farm Cottage was the perfect accommodation. The open plan living area was ideal for us all to be together and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, with seating to take quiet time out if needed! The kitchen was well equipped and sitting around the large table altogether for our evening meal was a joy. Rebecca's admin. was spot on and the two Brians always had the time to keep us informed of day to day life on their farm. Certainly a holiday to remember.

We stayed in February and had a wonderful time. We received a very warm and relaxed welcome. The cottage was right on a working farm, so our 4 year old boy got to enjoy riding the tractors, feeding the lambs etc, great for little kids. The cottage was very well equipped and we had everything we needed. Definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic family break in January 2016 with 8 adults and 2 dogs staying very comfortably in the house. It was cosy, warm and welcoming. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and it proved a great location for beach walks. We visited Rhossili, Port Eynon, Pennard and Three Cliffs Bay. We also loved seeing the new born lambs in the barn. My daughter was able to hold a lamb that was only an hour old which was brilliant. We would definitely consider returning some time in the future. A lovely place.

  • We felt at home the minute we walked into East Pilton Farm Cottage. It is spacious, well furnished and in a beautiful spot, with small coves and beaches to explore before reaching Rhossili bay. The farmer and his family were extremely helpful and had time to answer our questions, no matter how busy they were. One highlight of our week has to be the sheep shearing.

Pilton Farm Cottage was delightful and exceded our expectaions. It is very well equiped and comfortable. It location on the farm made our stay a real pleasure as everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was good to see and learn about the daily workings of the farm. You can also ask about buying their free range eggs which were a real treat.

The cottage is superb, beautifully furnished, with attention to detail. For example, you don't have to remember washing up liquid, scourers, dishcloths, tea towels etc., as in many self-catering properties. There are also extra towels, and handwash in the bathrooms and kitchen. The bedrooms are all lovely, and the beds are very comfortable. Info in the folder is comprehensive, and relevant. The family are very welcoming, and always acknowledged us when we went out for the day, helping us with planning walks, and showing us the farm etc. Nothing was too much trouble, which made our stay even more pleasurable. I had ordered a box of vegetables and eggs, which was superb. The welcome basket was also amazing, with 2 bottles of wine, home made cake, lovely ground coffee, milk, and tea, coffee and sugar. We had a fantastic time there, and are definitely planning on going again. It was the perfect place to explore wonderful Rhossili from, either by bike or on foot!

Brilliant cottage on a lovely farm. Brian the farmer couldn't be friendlier! We were 6 adults, and 3 children, and two babies and didn't feel cramped at all. The bedrooms are massive, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals. Would definitely recommend.

  • I have stayed every year for the past 5 years. We love it! The setting is convenient for beaches and walks, and living on a "real farm" is just amazing. I would recommend this cottage to anyone. Accommodation is immaculate, hosts are friendly and have thought of everything to make the stay as stress free as possible. I always go home feeling so relaxed! This year we were lucky enough to see two lambs being born too!

We visited East Pilton Farm Cottage for the first time in October 2014. We had a delightful experience. The hospitality offered is outstanding and we would recommend this cottage most highly. The accommodation itself is of a high standard and the location is perfect for walkers, families wishing to visit local beaches, or indeed for anyone seeking a relaxing holiday surrounded by the ever-changing beauty and variety that the Gower offers. However, the highlights for us were the experiences that the farm offered both for ourselves and for our children. Hosts Brian and Rebecca and Brian's father made us all very welcome, ensured our comfort at all times and were more than happy to share with us their farming life. All in all, we had a great experience and have booked to return. We are frequent Gower visitors and have sampled many different self catering venues over the years, but this is undoubtedly the best we have experienced.

We had a wonderful holiday on the beautiful Gower penisula in August at East Pilton Farm holiday cottage, it is fabulous - 4 very spacious bedrooms and so well equipped, Rebecca has thought of literally everything! The whole family are very friendly and welcoming and you arrive to a lovely welcome basket including a homemade cake. We had some lovely walks along the coastline and there are super places to eat too. We highly recommend this cottage to larger families or groups of friends.

Wonderful cottage set in the middle of a working farm in rural Wales. Brian senior and Brian both live on the farm and they are a fountain of knowledge. The cottage is spacious and light and all the rooms are a good size. I have stayed in many cottages and villas both in the UK and abroad but this cottage is one of the best equipped I have stayed in. Rebecca and all her family are very welcoming and if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living then this is the place for you. The beaches are as good if not better than many on the Cornish coast and if you like your ice cream then Joe's is the place for you! If you are looking for a change, then try the Gower - fresh air, peace and quiet but with plenty of places to visit, stunning scenery, a great cottage and oh yes, some good beer if you are a real ale person!

  • My family have just returned from a week at the amazing East Pilton Farm Cottage - this is 5 star accommodation - full of luxuries, including fluffy bath towels and toiletries, a delightful welcome pack and many other items to fill all the needs of self catering . The cottage was extremely clean and welcoming with tasteful decor. The family who own the cottage are charming and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is well placed for all the areas of The Gower, whether wanting to walk the coastal path or drive to the many beautiful beaches Gower has to offer. The cottage is on a working farm and we were more than welcome to interact with Brian Snr - benefiting from his local knowledge and experience. This added to the children's adventure. We look forward to returning one day .

We love East Pilton Farm! My family are keen walkers and we love to come to East Pilton because of the wide variety of Gower walks, many of which begin right at the cottage door. The cottage itself is just perfect! It's great to be on a working farm, my grandson loves bottle-feeding the lambs and last time we went, we even got to watch the cattle being dehorned!

What a fantastic Gower retreat. I have recently spent a glorious, fun-filled week with my family, at East Pilton Farm. We arrived to find a warm Welsh welcome from the owners, who are absolutely wonderful. They have thought of everything. We wanted for nothing. The cottage is immaculate and felt like a home from home. Conveniently situated near the most spectacular family beaches on Gower. A stone's throw from the renowned Rhossili beach, as well as Port Eynon and Horton. With Oxwich being a short car journey away, where we spent the evening fishing, and barbecuing our catch of mackerel. The children loved the beaches and walks, of which there are many. We shall return as there are so many more walks and adventures to be had. I would readily recommend a stay at East Pilton. Many thanks again for such a wonderful time.

Just enjoying some of the delicious Salt Marsh Lamb we brought back from Gower which reminds us how much we loved our week at East Pilton Farm. Rebecca, the two Brians and the dog were so welcoming. It and Gower more than lived up to expectations The cottage was clean, comfortable and well-equipped and very cosy to return to after bracing and stunning coastal walks - spotted choughs, egrets and flocks of Brent Geese. Loved the castles which dot the whole peninsula especially Oxwich and Weobley, and our walk around Three Cliffs Bay and Pennard followed by delicious lunch at Three Cliffs Café, not to mention the breathtaking (literally thanks to hurricane Gonzalo) Worm's Head and Rhossilli. If you like being outdoors there's lots to see and do and nothing is very far away. Our only regret is that we didn't get a good sunset over Worm's Head. Maybe next time?

Recently visited the Gower Peninsula, on a much needed break from a very hectic work schedule, working across the U/k in the Catering industry , It has to be said the British Isles has some of the most outstanding areas of outstanding Beauty to rival any of the destinations we travel extensively using many air miles to get to,!! Having arrived at the Cottage I relaxed immediately the whole feel of having the Country around me and being on a Farm, the walks from the farm are amazing ,your literally five minutes from the Sea and can enjoy access to the Coastal path for walks around Gower without having to get in the car which suit me right down to the the ground, the Cottage is great, spacious airy and very Comfortable with all you need to feel at home,I most enjoyed the Lemon Drizzle cake made by Rebecca which was part of the welcoming pack , I will visit Gower many times again.

Restaurants

Gower has a wide selection of pubs, restaurants and bistros to choose from but here are some of our favourites:-

The Welcome to Town, Llanrhidian – 8 miles from the cottage.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Llanrhidian on the North side of Gower, the Welcome to Town is a real gem! The Welcome has recently undergone a major re-furbishment and is definitely worth a visit! It is open from 12 o’clock daily for food and drinks and is great for a lunchtime snack or for a special occasion.

The Oxwich Bay Hotel – 7 miles from the cottage.
The Oxwich Bay Hotel enjoys an idyllic location set beside the stunning Oxwich Beach. The hotel has a pretty beer garden overlooking the bay where you can enjoy a glass of wine. The menu serves a mouth-watering variety of freshly prepared local dishes prepared by a dedicated team led by head chef Dan Williams. The service is always friendly, the food is consistently delicious and dogs are welcome in certain parts of the hotel. Our favourites are the mussels and chunky chips, the Oxwich Bay Burger and the fabulous Sunday lunches!

The Bay Bistro Rhossili Gower, Rhossili – 1.7 miles from the cottage.
The Bay Bistro and Coffee House is in the most beautiful spot on Gower – with panoramic views over Rhossili Bay. They serve a wide range of food and drinks, as much as possible sourced locally and everything is freshly prepared. Lovely homemade cakes! It is an excellent place to eat.

Beachhouse (Bistro, Oxwich Beach) – 7 miles from the cottage
This restaurant is in the unique position of literally being on Oxwich beach! It enjoys panoramic views across Oxwich Beach and of Three Cliffs. It has a large terrace facing the sea. There is plenty of fresh fish on the menu here – as you may expect!

This lovely Gower country house sits in 24 acres of beautiful, wooded grounds and gardens, with a fabulous sun terrace at the back. Delicious menus with the finest local ingredients. This is definitely the place for a special occasion. Fairyhill has been ranked as one of the ten best restaurants outside London by the Daily Telegrah. We would agree! Visit the website.

The Langland Brasserie, Langland – 14 miles from the cottage
Although a 25 minute drive from the farm, The Langland Brasserie is still one of our Gower favourites! The restaurant is owned by a local Italian family, so there is always plenty of good pasta options on the menu. Also, they serve a good selection of fresh fish and offer a choice of roasts on Sunday. We love the relaxed, stylish atmosphere and the amazing views out over Langland Beach.

Boasting awe-inspiring views over the Loughor Estuary, the Britannia Inn is situated in the picturesque village of Llanmadoc on the North Coast of the Gower Peninsula. This one is a real favourite of our guests.
